Dr. Mahalakshmi Ramchandra, was born in a family with multiple physicians in Hyderbad, India where she completed medical school. Her love for children led her to pursue a career in pediatrics. After moving to the United States 30 years ago, she completed her residency at Driscoll Children’s Hospital in Corpus Christi in 1998. She took a career break to be with her firstborn daughter, and later obtained her Board Certification from The American Board of Pediatrics in 2000. She worked as a pediatrician in the Corpus Christi Naval Base before moving to Houston in 2004.

She started Bay Colony Pediatrics in 2005 to create an environment where her patients can receive the best pediatric experience. Her goal was to create a practice that is comprehensive, gives time to give parents to address their concerns, and is primarily focused on the needs of children. Her special interests are asthma, obesity and now behavioral health.

She loves the joy children bring, nature, travel, going on walks with her two Yorkies, gardening and cooking. She is happily married to her husband Ram who runs the practice. They have two lovely daughters; one is in medical school and the other a rising senior in high school (and the webmaster of this website!).
